Title
Strengthening Governance for Transformational Change in Water Security
Description

The programme goal is the transformation of water use in land-based value chains to increase water resilience and environmental benefits for people, nature and climate. This will enable vulnerable people in 5-10 Lower Income Countries to access the quantity and quality of water needed to thrive, adapt to climate change and protect their environment.

The programme outcomes are: a) Better governance of water supply, use and demand within value chains measured by the Water Stewardship standard as a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) b) More integrated, accountable and climate resilient water management using Nature-based Solutions . The KPI is approved locally-led integrated catchment plans. c) More public and private investment in water management directed to benefit vulnerable people and restore nature. The KPI is the funding of catchment plans. Extensive engagement with stakeholders in the run up to COP26 has provided a comprehensive view of the multi-stakeholder community in this thematic area. This EME will inform FCDO’s approach to engaging delivery partners and testing our design assumptions. A PQQ linked to this project will be created to share documents and maintain pre-procurement dialogue.
This is not a call for competition or tender at this time.
