Raunds Town Council is inviting qualified contractors to tender for a comprehensive grounds maintenance and associated services contract. The five-year contract will commence on April 1, 2025, and end on March 31, 2030.
Scope of Work:
The successful contractor will be responsible for maintaining the town's open spaces, including:
Recreation grounds and sports pitches. Play areas and cemeteries. Regular litter picking and bin emptying. Detailed specifications, including area maps and task requirements, are outlined in the tender documentation. Work will include:
Grass Cutting: To maintain specified grass areas to standards described, with schedules varying from 7 to 16 cuts annually depending on location. Hedge Cutting: Two cuts annually for most areas during the approved period (September to February). Litter Management: Regular litter picking and bin emptying, with specific frequencies assigned per location. Pesticides and Weed Control: Application of herbicides and other treatments in specified areas. Miscellaneous Tasks: As needed, including tree work, grave maintenance, and leaf clearance.
Evaluation Criteria: Tenders will be evaluated based on:
Cost (60%): Fixed annual pricing submitted via the supplied Excel workbook. Quality (40%): Technical merit, environmental considerations, cost-effectiveness, local knowledge, and company credentials.
Submission Requirements: Tender submissions must include:
A covering letter introducing the company. Completed pricing schedule. References, preferably from other local authorities. Public and employer liability insurance certificates. Health and safety policies, including risk assessments and method statements.

Additional Information: The successful contractor must comply with all legal health and safety requirements and maintain high-quality standards. There will be no changes to the agreed rates during the contract term.
