Soft market testing to inform Adult Education provision from August 2022BackgroundWSCC currently receives c. £3.1m of ESFA AEB funding annually, c. £1.25m Adult Skills, c. £1.9m Community Learning. WSCC commissions subcontractors to deliver provision for West Sussex residents. Provision is currently delivered in approximately 80 venues across West Sussex to over 3,000 adults each year. Adult Learning AimsThe overarching ambitions for West Sussex County Council’s Adult Education Service are: • To maximise adult participation in education and training in order to achieve economic growth, full employment, social inclusion, community cohesion, health and wellbeing. • To increase the amount of Adult Skills / employability / digital / access courses available to residents, especially for learners in our most deprived areas and those that have been most impacted by the Covid pandemic.• To support those whose individual circumstances place them most in need of learning and skills as well as those who may not otherwise have access to learningPriority learner groups include:-Those not in employment and / or in receipt of benefits-Those with low skill levels-Those with no qualifications-Disadvantaged groups or individuals with specific needs, e.g. lone parents, BAME groups, adults with learning difficulties and / or disabilities-Those who wish to improve their employment and / or further learning opportunities.SurveyWSCC is asking interested parties to complete a short survey to understand market capacity and capability and to inform the next steps in commissioning this service.The survey can be accessed by referring to the Council's e-sourcing platform SE Shared Serviceshttps://in-tendhost.co.uk/sesharedservices/aspx/Home and searching for the project 'WSCC - JS - Soft market testing to inform Adult Education provision from August 2022'.
