The National Audit Office (NAO) is the UK's independent public spending watchdog. The NAO supports Parliament in holding government to account and helps improve public services through its high-quality audits.
The NAO currently has a contract for the provision of Occupational Health (OH) Services that includes Employment Assistance programme (EAP) and Health screening which the NAO intends to reprocure this year.
The intention of this prior information notice (PIN) is to understand the current market and value of the services and if there have been any developments in this market since the NAO last procured including providing advance notice our plans to issue the procurement exercise by Spring/Summer 2025.
We are looking to engage with interested suppliers who are experienced in providing comprehensive Occupational Health (OH) service comprised of Health Assessment Questionnaires, Management Referrals, DSE Assessments, Immunisation Programmes, Employee Assistance Programme and Health Screening services.
We are also considering splitting the services into the following lots
• Lot 1 Occupational Health services
• Lot 2 Employment Assistance programme
• Lot 3 Health Screening
However, we are seeking the marketplace feedback on the proposed lotting approach and potential procurement procedures.
It is envisaged that the length of the new agreement will be for an initial 2 years with the option to extend for a further period of up to 3 years, starting in early 2026 with an estimated contract value ranging between £500k to £600k (but may vary).
However, note that NAO is not advertising this PIN as a mechanism to reduce future procurement timescales.
