UKHSA require a specialist contractor to undertake works on the UKHSA Porton site for laboratory refurbishment and HVAC replacement(s). The estimated contract start date is May 2024 with works completing by Jan 2025. All works will be conducted in sensitive and hazardous areas, where company processes and procedures must coincide with UKHSA site policies. The project requires the design, build and commission of the refurbishment of laboratory X and the design, build and commission of new HVAC units for laboratories Y and Z.
Scope of Works:
• Laboratory X is a Containment Level 2 laboratory that will be refurbished and upgraded to Containment Level 3 standard. This will involve replacing the HVAC plant and total refurbishment of the internal fabric, to achieve the required ACDP3/SAPO3 standard.
• Laboratory Y and Z is also a CL3 laboratory and requires the HVAC plant to be replaced, with limited associated works within the laboratory, also in accordance with SAPO/ACDP requirements.
Note:
Laboratories X, Y and Z have been changed for the purpose of this document. The laboratories will be stated accurately for contract award.

UKHSA may also invite interested parties in participating in market consultation. UKHSA does not guarantee direct consultation with all interested parties, rather it will engage a sufficient number of supplier in order to build appropriate understanding of the market in shaping the tender and contract.
