Essex County Council (ECC) is considering options for a Countywide Community Wellbeing and Resilience Service, tackling Health Inequalities at its heart and using new methodology to deliver support for wellbeing at large scale and over time. This service will deliver health improvement programmes, including but not limited to, smoking cessation, weight management and NHS health checks, and will also focus on addressing broader determinants and working directly with communities to harness community assets for wellbeing. Adult Social Care is committed to develop a early help community wellbeing offer across Essex that improves people's independence and wellbeing. Connecting people to information, advice, guidance and tools to promote healthy lives and wellbeing at the earliest point of need, is key to wellbeing. Furthermore this will prevent, reduce or delaying escalation of need, thus managing demand and creating a sustainable future Adult Social Care. Adult Social Care will work with Public Health and the winning provider(s), over the course of the next 12 months to co-design this offer as part of the future service and in principle to investing resource during the term of the contract.
