This is a prior information notice (PIN) only: Publication and a call for competition will be conducted once the scope of work is fully defined and approved. WRAP aims to ‘strengthen the governance of water at national and provincial levels, supporting adaptation to climate change and improving environmental sustainability’. The programme will work in the following areas: Water Governance: Provide technical support to improve the capacity of water institutions at federal and provincial levels, such as water commissions, water regulatory authorities and irrigation departments. Nature Based Solutions: Demonstrate how restoring the health of water systems and applying nature-based solutions could help communities adapt to climate change. Restoring damaged water ecosystem services can sequester carbon and protect against water-related disasters like floods and drought. Catalytic Fund: The fund will aim to demonstrate and upscale new innovative solutions to old challenges on management of water as resource through government buy-in. The fund will also cover provision of research, analysis and evaluation to ensure sustainability of water and nature-based interventions. The EME will consult on the following questions: Where do you think in Pakistan these interventions would be most beneficial? Which government stakeholders are most influential in these sectors at federal and provincial level? How might a catalytic fund be used to support the delivery of this programme? What do you see as the main risks and challenges to delivering this programme? and Timelines for programme mobilisation.
