NHS Devon will transit to becoming an Integrated Care System (ICS) on the 1st of April 2022. NHS Devon will work in partnership through a Section 75 Agreement with the Local Authority Devon County Council to commission NHS transport . The current Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) contract ends on the 28th May 2022. In August 2021 the final report of the national review of NEPTS and Patient Eligibility was published. Reflecting the above NHS Devon and Devon County Council will be re-procuring NEPTS contracts to implement a new service effective from 29th May 2022. The new model will be based on the interim review report and consultation.This means: Delivering a new model of types of transport The potential for changes as a result of the current national consultation delivering a different outcome than the indicative report. This procurement will take place through the Dynamic Procurement System (DPS) managed by Devon County Council.
