Essex County Council (ECC) is currently looking to procure a waste composition analysis service that analyses and helps the Authority to better understand the composition of residual waste both across the 12 Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) and the Authority’s 21 recycling centres. In collaboration with its partners, ECC is currently responsible for the handling of residual waste from roughly 650,000 households, or approximately 1.6 million people. Every year, around 700,000 tonnes of household waste are created in Essex, with 87% collected at the kerbside and 13% received at the Authority's recycling centres. Ahead of publishing this opportunity in November 2023, the Authority is looking to assess the interest and capability of the market to provide and deliver the requirement as set out in the Description of Project Section and would like to invite interested parties to register their interest in this opportunity and respond to the questionnaire that can be obtained via ProContract.
