Science CPD Programme - England

In order to deliver the required pipeline of students performing well in science that the economy needs, key challenges facing science education need to be addressed. These are: a need to improve exam performance, particularly amongst disadvantaged students; a need to increase the number of students studying science subjects post-16, particularly the number of students from under-represented groups and the need to increase the confidence of teachers teaching primary science. The Department is looking to make progress against these challenges through the provision of a high quality CPD programme that delivers support to science teachers. In particular, the Department is looking for CPD that supports a knowledge-rich curriculum in the sciences from primary level to post-16.
